Cameron Shave is an accomplished trumpeter, pianist, arranger, and bandleader with a deep passion for jazz. Currently, he's honing his craft as a Jazz Arts major at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City under the tutelage of jazz legends Jon Faddis, Ingrid Jensen, and Scott Wendholt. Cameron too has studied with trumpeters Marcus Printup, Billy Buss, John Allmark, Tom Kirinksy, Phil Grenadier, and Aaron Janik.

His arranging skills have been sharpened through studying with renowned arrangers Greg Hopkins, John Allmark, and a mentorship with Grammy Award-winning arranger Steven Feifke where Cam had his piece recorded by the Steven Feifke Big Band in New York City.

Cameron’s performance resume is impressive. He has taken the stage as a guest artist with the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall, wowed audiences at the NAMN Show in Anaheim, California, performed as a guest artist at the Provincetown Jazz Festival, and performed at high-profile events hosted by the Celebrity Series of Boston. He will soon be performing as a part of the Philadelphia Summer Jazz Series which is organized by the great trumpeter Terell Stafford. Shave has garnered attention from prestigious publications such as JazzTimes, DownBeat, and BroadwayWorld.

Cameron strongly believes in jazz education and hopes to give all he has learned to the next generations to keep this art form alive. Currently, he is pursuing this by teaching lessons in the Greater Boston Area and working with local high school bands.

"You can play. You're a hell of a musician...more than trumpet."
