"The Strictly Sinatra Jazz Band set up at Federal Hill in Providence to entertain its audience...

..but there was something different about this particular summer night performance in 2015.

They called up a special guest.

The guest pulled out his own trumpet and began to improvise a solo, bringing the crowd to its feet as many pulled out their phones to record the performance..."

Cameron Shave is an accomplished trumpeter, pianist, arranger, and bandleader with a deep passion for jazz. Shave will be a junior this fall. Cameron too has studied with trumpeters Marcus Printup, John Allmark, Phil Grenadier, Billy Buss, Tom Kirinksy, and Aaron Janik.

His arranging skills have been sharpened through studying with renowned arrangers Greg Hopkins, John Allmark, and a mentorship with Grammy Award-winning arranger Steven Feifke where Cam had his piece recorded by the Steven Feifke Big Band in New York City.

Cameron’s performance resume is impressive. He has taken the stage as a guest artist with the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall, wowed audiences at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, performed as a guest artist at the Provincetown Jazz Festival, and performed at high-profile events hosted by the Celebrity Series of Boston. "You can play. You're a hell of a musician...more than trumpet."
