ABOUT
Cameron Shave is a composer, arranger, and orchestrator whose work spans jazz ensemble, studio orchestra, marching band, wind ensemble, Latin jazz ensemble, commercial music, and chamber settings.
He has studied composition and arranging with John Fedchock, Christopher Zuar, Greg Hopkins, and John Allmark, and previously participated in a mentorship with Grammy Award-winning arranger Steven Feifke. Through Feifke's Lead Sheet to Large Ensemble Program, one of Cameron's big band arrangements was professionally recorded by the Steven Feifke Big Band.
Cameron was commissioned by Jon Faddis to arrange and orchestrate the music of Louis Armstrong for a "Pops Birthday Celebration" at the Louis Armstrong House Museum. His original compositions and arrangements have also been performed by the Cameron Shave Jazz Orchestra, including the premiere of six of his works at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Dizzy's Club.
In addition to commissioned works, Cameron regularly assists performers, educators, and ensembles with arranging, orchestration, score preparation, and related music projects.
