CSJO

The CSJO has been playing for six years and young jazz trumpeter Cameron Shave, now 20 years of age, has been arranging for, directing, and managing the project since the age of 14. The band has a vast following from young teens who may play in their school jazz band to long-time jazz listeners. The Jazz Orchestra performs original works and arrangements of Cameron's own. However, the band has a library of music performed by Woody Herman, Count Basie, Duke Ellington,

Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Tito Puente, Bill Holman, Gordon Goodwin, Fletcher Henderson,

Tommy Dorsey, Bob Mintzer, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and Artie Shaw.

BIG BAND HOLIDAY

The CSJO is well known for its Holiday Big Band Bash that takes place every December. The band, led by Cameron Shave, plays the famous Holiday big band arrangements that are performed by Brian Setzer, Michael Bublé, Harry Connick Jr, and more. This holiday special features a vocalist, a full 18-piece big band, and original arrangements and transcriptions by Shave himself.

7-PIECE BIG BAND?

Cameron also runs a Septet (7-piece) which is primarily a smaller more adaptable version of the CSJO. The Cameron Shave Septet plays primarily original arrangements by Cameron himself.

ARRANGING EXPERIENCE

Cameron has had the opportunity to study alongside Greg Hopkins in arranging for the Boston Pops as a featured artist. Cameron too has arranged for the Grammy-winning Steven Feifke Big Band.
