Cameron Shave Jazz Orchestra
The Cameron Shave Jazz Orchestra (CSJO) is a dynamic big band based in Massachusetts, featuring some of the finest jazz musicians from New York and New England.
Led by composer, arranger, and trumpeter Cameron Shave, the ensemble brings high-energy performances that blend swing tradition with modern jazz and hard bop.​

For over a decade, CSJO has performed Cameron’s original compositions and arrangements, showcasing a creative approach to harmony and orchestration. However, its repertoire also includes works performed by bands such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, and more.​ With a diverse audience ranging from young jazz students to seasoned listeners, the CSJO attempts to push the boundaries of the big band sound—celebrating jazz’s rich legacy while forging a bold, new voice.​
As of recently, Cameron Shave has created another chapter of his big band in New York City. This band is a mix of New England and New York City professional jazz musicians. This band has performed at multiple locations including off of Times Square in Manhattan, NYC, and Dizzy's Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

HOLIDAYS
The CSJO is well known for its Holiday Big Band Bash that takes place every December. The band, led by Cameron Shave, plays festive Holiday big band arrangements.
This holiday special features a vocalist, a full 18 to 20-piece big band, and original arrangements and transcriptions by Shave himself. For more information about this best-selling event, please click the link above.​

ARRANGEMENTS
Cameron is not only a jazz trumpeter and bandleader, but is also a jazz composer and arranger whose work blends intricate harmony and bolder orchestration with a deepened understanding of the jazz tradition.
He has arranged for the Grammy-winning Steven Feifke Big Band as part of the Lead Sheet to Large Ensemble Program, with his arrangement professionally recorded. Cameron was commissioned by the great Jon Faddis to arrange and orchestrate the music of Louis Armstrong for a "Pops Birthday Celebration" held at the Louis Armstrong House Museum. Cameron was asked to play at Dizzy's Club where he premiered six new arrangements of his with this Jazz Orchestra.
Cameron has had the opportunity to study alongside Greg Hopkins, having his ideas arranged for the Boston Pops as a featured artist. Other composition mentors include John Fedchock, Christopher Zuar, and John Allmark.
